Desert Reborn

 The brown desert had been blanketed in white;
The moon lightly glowed as it lit up the night.
I carelessly walked barefoot into the snow,
to watch the earth reflect the heavenly glow.

I looked at the ground, once blemished and pitted.
It looked perfect as the moonlight now hit it.
The desert now looked somehow inviting,
with its new coat and heavenly lighting.

I walked further still out onto the road,
to see the perfect sight the winter bestowed.
I looked in every single direction,
to see the ground’s newfound perfection.

The light sparkled as it hit the ground.
I stood there in awe as I looked all around.
The desert now looked brand new and clean,
I myself felt suddenly renewed and serene.

I saw my breath as it entered the night,
and I walked quietly and took in the sight.
I stayed and stared at the new wintery hues,
until I remembered I had forgotten my shoes.
